Russian presidential envoy to visit Abkhazia in early May

TBILISI. April 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian presidential envoy for the Georgian-Abkhaz settlement will visit Sukhumi in early May.

"Russian presidential envoy for the Georgian-Abkhaz settlement and First Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin will travel to Sukhumi on May 4 to finally coordinate with the Abkhaz party the establishment of working groups which will deal with the restoration of train service, refugees return and rehabilitation of the Inguri hydroelectric power plant in the context of agreements between Russian and Georgian presidents reached in Sochi in May," acting Abkhaz foreign minister Sergei Shamba told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

Loshchinin is expected to meet with Shamba and newly- appointed Prime Minister Raul Khadzhimba.

"Abkhaz officials and the Russian presidential envoy will intensively discuss specific issues related to progress in the negotiating process during the day," Shamba said.

Abkhazia is practically ready to announce the list of members of its working groups, he added.
