YALTA, Ukraine. May 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin insisted on May 2 that a Russian-Ukrainian project to develop the AN-70 airplane be brought to completion.
"Russia has already invested a lot in this project. We'd like it to be completed," Putin told reporters in Yalta after meeting with Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma.
"The main point is to find the market for this product: who will buy this plane and on what terms," he said.
"Russia is interested in maintaining the aerospace complexes of the Russian Federation and Ukraine. We mustn't forget about the AN-70 project either, especially since quite a bit of money has been put into it," the president said.
