CHISINAU. May 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The graduates of Moldova's higher educational establishments without military training who are eager to serve in the army for the whole life will be first to be admitted to a three-month military service.
"About 200 university graduates are to be drafted this spring. Since the number of those willing to serve is above the necessary level, those graduates who are eager to professionally serve in the army for the whole life will be first to be admitted," the press service of the Moldovan Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency Monday.
All in all about 3,000 men will be enlisted this spring. Almost 1,200 of them will serve in the National army, all others in the carabineers and in the border guard.
According to the press service, the draftees will not be sent to their destinations on May 1 (Spring and Labor Day), May 5 (Parents' Day), May 9 (Victory Day and Day of Memory of Heroes Killed for the Liberty of the Motherland). The first draftees will come to military units on May 12, the press service said.
