TBILISI. May 6 (Interfax-AVN) - A fine of about USD120,000 has been imposed on the Seve tanker sailing under the Turkish flag that was detained by Georgian border guards in late April, press service chief of the Georgian State Border Guard Department Shalva Londaridze said on Tuesday.
The tanker was stopped for violating Georgia's naval borders and navigation rules on April 27, Londaridze told Interfax- Military News Agency.
"Investigation into the violations committed by the tanker's captain and crew has just been completed," the official said.
According to Londaridze, Georgian border guards have detained six foreign vessels for various violations this year. Three of them were sailing under the Turkish flag, two under the Ukrainian flag and one under the Russian flag.
