MOSCOW. May 7 (Interfax-AVN) - About 8,000 servicemen of the Russian Space Forces do not have housing of their own, Lieutenant General Ivan Khomenko, Space Forces deputy commander for political work and head of the political work department, said on Wednesday.
"The housing problem is the most acute of social problems. About 8,000 of our servicemen do not have housing of their own," Khomenko told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Nevertheless, housing was provided to last year's graduates of higher military educational establishments despite all difficulties, he stressed. The number of graduates exceeded 1,000.
Speaking about other reasons for complaints made by Space Troops servicemen with political work bodies, Khomenko mentioned abuse of power by seniors and violations of order of service, retirement and transfer to a different place of service.
