TBILISI. May 7 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian, Georgian and Abkhaz working groups on settlement issues may hold the first meeting already in mid-May, Georgian Ambassador to Russia Zurab Abashidze told reporters on Wednesday.
The groups will deal with train service restoration, return of refugees, and rehabilitation of the Inguri hydro power plant.
Abashidze praised dynamics in the talks on the implementation of the accords on Abkhazia reached by Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in March.
The ambassador recalled that Putin's envoy to Abkhazia Valery Loshchinin, who visited Sukhumi on Sunday, spoke in favor of scaling up the negotiating process with the goal to implement the two presidents' accords.
Tbilisi has completed establishment of its working groups, Sukhimi is about to complete the process.
