MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax-AVN) - The U.S. is currently not planning to send its armed forces to Iran, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell has said.
In reply to a question from Interfax live on Ekho Moskvy radio on Thursday morning, Powell confirmed that Washington is worried by Iran's nuclear program. He also noted that Russia also shares these concerns. Neither the U.S. nor Russia would like to see Iran's nuclear program to be used for developing nuclear weapons, he said.
However, asked whether the U.S. is preparing public opinion for the possible redeployment of American troops to Iran, the secretary of state noted that this issue is not on the U.S. armed forces' agenda at the moment.
