Vladimir region's defense industry enterprises increase output by 4.2 % in four months

Vladimir. May 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The Vladimir region's defense industry enterprises increased their output by 4.2 % in the first four months of this year compared with the same period of last year, the regional department of economy told Interfax- Military News Agency on Thursday.

"As many as 17 defense industry enterprises of the Vladimir region manufactured commodities worth RUB2.8bn (USD91.41m) in January-April, having increased the total output by 4.2 % in comparable prices compared with the same period of last year," the economy department said in a statement.

According to the department, the Kovrov-based Degtyarev Plant with an output growth of 43.6% and the Kovrov Mechanical Plant with an output growth of 31.2% provided the greatest gain.

The Vladimir Tochmash enterprise increased its output by 7.3% thanks to orders of the Atomic Energy Ministry and greater water and gas counters production. The Murom Instrument-making Plant increased its output by 16.5%. The Vladimir Elektropribor Plant increased its output by 26% thanks to increase in production of radio-technical communication assets for aircraft and motor transport, as well as to Defense Ministry orders.

The Kovrov Electromechanical Plant producing automatic arms control systems decreased its output by 25% because of absence of the orders.

The state debt to the region's defense industry enterprises decreased by 20% since the year's beginning, falling down to RUB794.9 m (USD25.95) as of May 1.
