MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax-AVN) - The State Duma is likely to pass a bill "On declaring an amnesty in connection with the adoption of the Constitution of the Chechen Republic" in the second reading on Wednesday.
On this day, the parliamentarians will consider amendments to the initial version of the document, Chairman of the Duma legislation committee Pavel Krasheninnikov of the Union of Right Forces (SPS) faction told the press before the parliament session.
In particular, the deputies will consider extending the deadline for guerillas to hand over weapons from August 1 to September 1.
Krasheninnikov said the committee believes it would be better not to hurry to pass a final decision on the amnesty, but instead take time to perfect the document from the legal standpoint.
