KHANKALA. June 4 (Interfax-AVN) - A rebel named Arbult Abubakarov has been killed in the village of Lermontov-Yurt in Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan district.
"Abubakarov was killed by policemen and servicemen while resisting arrest," a source in the headquarters of the Combined Federal Force in Chechnya told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.
Another two rebels from the group led by warlord Isa Madagov have been detained in the Prigorodny district of the Chechen capital. Over 60 cartridges, two mines and almost a kilo of explosives were found in the car they were traveling in. They were headed for the city center.
All in all, 14 caches containing weapons and ammunition have been liquidated in Chechnya over the past 24 hours.
"In the Staropromyslovsky district alone, 11 small-arms pieces, five portable anti-tank grenade launchers, 12 artillery shells, about three kilos of explosives, and a large number of cartridges were found in caches," the source said.
