Terrorist act prevented in Grozny

GROZNY. June 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Police have prevented a terrorist act in the Leninsky district of Grozny.

An engineering reconnaissance group found a fire hose stuffed with six kilograms of explosives on Bogdan Khmelnitsky Street, the Chechen Interior Ministry press service told Interfax on Thursday.

The fire hose was buried 200 meters from a checkpoint of a riot police task force. Many servicemen and civilians travel along the road, the press service stressed.

The search for the persons that planted the explosive device is underway.

A cache containing two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a large number of grenades, magazines for small-arms, and a foreign-made radio set was found at the central cemetery of Grozny.

Another cache was found near the Kharachoi-Ekhi village in the Itum-Kale district. The cache contained a Kalashnikov assault rifle, explosives, ammunition, and mines.
