Most servicepersons received Russian Federation civilian passport - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax-AVN) - More than 85 percent of officers and professional enlisted servicepersons have received a Russian Federation civilian passport, the Russian Defense Ministry press service told Interfax-Military News Agency Thursday.

"The state passportization program in the Armed Forces has been mostly implemented. More than 85 percent of commissioned and warrant officers and professional enlisted servicepersons have received a Russian Federation civilian passport," the press service said.

According to the press service, the cadets and attendants of almost all military colleges and academies, except for three Land Forces colleges, two naval ones, and for the Military Medical Academy (St. Petersburg - Interfax-AVN), have also received passports. The program is also being implemented in units deployed in the CIS.

The press service said that, according to local military officials, some regions meet problems in issuing passports to the military due to shortage of passport forms (Murmansk region) and also due to overload of relevant state authorities.
