ST.PETERSBURG. June 6 (Interfax-Northwest) - The St. Petersburg-based Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovaniye company and the Indian corporation Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) have signed a framework agreement on cooperation.
The document provides for joint R&D, the shipment of components for the licensed production of SU-30MKI planes by India and spare parts and repair kits for MIG-21 Fishbed, MIG-29 Fulcrum, SU-30 Flanker, and SU-30MKI planes used by the Indian Air Force, and coordination of the corporations' steps to promote their products on markets in third countries.
HAL Chairman Nalini Ranjan Mohanty said after the signing ceremony that the agreement regulates cooperation development in six spheres, including in the development of aircraft electric systems, environmental monitoring systems, flight parameters registration systems, and state identification systems.
HAL brings together 16 companies. It is the largest aircraft corporation in India and entire Asia. The company specializes in the production, repairs and servicing of aircraft, avionics, components, and ground equipment.
Aviakosmicheskoye Oborudovaniye (Aerospace Equipment) brings together over 30 enterprises of the Russian aircraft industry and adjacent industries.
