MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Ministry of Atomic Energy is studying an IAEA report on the Iranian nuclear program, which was forwarded to 35 countries in the run-up to discussion of this issue at a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors in Vienna on June 16, a ministry official told Interfax on Monday.
"This document, drawn up under IAEA Secretary General Mohamed ElBaradei's guidance, is expected to be voiced by him at the IAEA Board of Governors session," the ministry source said.
He said the report does not contain specific facts about any serious violations in Iran's national nuclear program. At the same time, it says that Iran failed to inform the IAEA about its nuclear materials on several occasions, although Iran has already promised to improve the situation, he said.
"The report contains no information about Iran devising a military nuclear program," the source said.
"The ministry will be able to comment on the IAEA report only after it is listened to and discussed at the IAEA Board of Governors session," he said.
As was reported earlier, U.S. officials have repeatedly claimed that Iran is not fully disclosing the details of its nuclear program to international inspectors. Moreover, they insisted that, along with the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, Iran is pursuing military nuclear programs. The IAEA has not officially confirmed this information.
