GROZNY. June 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Two guerillas resisted arrest and were killed in the Chechen town of Argun.
"Two unidentified persons put up armed resistance to law- enforcers during the search operation in a house in Zavodskaya Street in Argun," an official of the Interior Ministry temporary press service in the North Caucasus told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
Both guerillas were killed in the engagement, and two containers of used grenade dischargers, a pistol and batteries for radios were seized, the official said.
He added that a cache with 1,200 7.62-mm cartridges, 700 5.45-mm cartridges, five OZM-72 mortar shells and 42 RGD-5, F-1 and RGN grenades was found near the Makkhety village in the Vedeno district on Sunday.
One more guerilla cache with a 122-mm artillery shell, a grenade discharger round and 400 5.45-mm cartridges was destroyed during a search operation in a southeastern suburb of the Alkhan- Yurt community.
The police have destroyed four illegal oil refineries and detained four fueling trucks carrying 33t of illegally produced petrol products on Sunday.
