ST.PETERSBURG. June 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The British military delegation headed by General Mike Jackson, Chief of the General Staff, is visiting the Leningrad military district.
"The foreign guests made a visit to Colonel General Pavel Labutin, chief-of-staff and first deputy commander of the district, and traveled to the 56th district training center near St. Petersburg today. They were briefed on life and combat training of young soldiers," General Yuri Klenov, chief of the district's press service and aide to the district commander on public relations, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
Jackson fired regular armament of motorized rifle troops at the range of the district's training center. Speaking to reporters, he praised servicemen of the Leningrad, Moscow and North Caucasus military districts whom he met during his visit to Russia.
The delegation will fly a helicopter to the Kaminka garrison in the Leningrad region to meet the personnel of the 138th guards single motorized rifle brigade on Friday.
The delegation will leave for London later on Friday, Klenov said.
