STAVROPOL. June 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Servicemen of the Argun border guard detachment found three guerillas caches on Thursday, the North Caucasus regional border guard directorate's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The first cache was found during engineering works near the detachment's command office. About 15 kg of plastic explosive and TNT, more than 5 m of safety fuse, about 300 capped fuses and over 30 blasting caps were kept there.
The second cache was found by a border guard patrol near the mouth of the Daneilamkhi River. A portable grenade launcher, six grenade dischargers, about 700 cartridges, a few sleeping-bags, foodstuffs and medicines were hidden in the cache.
After that a border guard patrol of the Meshikhi border picket reported on detecting two 82-mm mortar shells.
All the finds were taken to border guard units.
According to the press service, nearly 50 guerilla caches have been seized and destroyed this year on the Russian-Georgian border. They contained more than 10 pieces of weapons, over 30 hand grenades, almost 800 grenade discharger rounds and about 56,000 cartridges.
