MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 700 graduates of the Military University who will join the Russian Armed Forces and other law-enforcement agencies this year are trained quite well to work with servicemen of different categories, including professional servicemen, Colonel General Valery Marchenkov, chief of the university, said on Saturday.
"More than 700 graduates of our university join the Armed Forces and other law-enforcement agencies this day. As a whole, they are well-trained experts and ready to work in units according to their specialties. I would like to stress that our graduates are ready to work with servicemen of all categories, including professional servicemen, whose number will increase starting from 2004," Marchenkov told Interfax-Military News Agency during the graduation ceremony that took place at the Poklonnaya mountain memorial in Moscow.
He added that over 200 military psychologists and sociologists graduated from the university for the first time this year.
"These experts are needed badly in units for the work with servicemen of all categories but first of all with active duty servicemen. I am sure that our graduates will make an important contribution to the morale in units," the general stressed.
The Military University was founded in February 1995 on the basis of the Humanitarian Academy of the Armed Forces and the Military Academy of Economy, Finance and Law. Military experts of 20 specialties including lawyers, teachers, psychologists, sociologists and entertainment managers and military reporters, are being trained there. The university has 44 departments and nine research subdivisions.
