TBILISI. June 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian State Security Minister Valery Khaburdzania told Interfax that the self- proclaimed republic of Abkhazia should not "export terrorism and crime."
"The military segment of the governmental program for a Georgian-Abkhaz settlement" should be aimed at preventing such development, he said.
The minister said he favors a peaceful solution to the Abkhaz problem. "This is the purpose of the governmental program on Abkhazia, but theoretically, the country should look at all options, including military ones," Khaburdzania said.
The fact that a man involved in the 1996 attack on the Avrasia ferry was found in Abkhazia "shows a lot," he said.
"There is information that the father of this terrorist has been elected mufti of Abkhazia's Muslims," he said.
Abkhazia "does not have al Qaeda, but it does have Wahhabis," Khaburdzania said.
