MOSCOW. July 7 (Interfax-AVN) -Moscow bombings of July 5 that killed 15 people, including the two female suicide attackers, and injured scores made President Vladimir Putin cancel planned visits to Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
Putin was due to leave for Uzbekistan on Sunday.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov and Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamad Mahathir, whom Putin informed about the cancellations by telephone, said they understood the Russian leader's reasons for staying at home.
Putin and Mahathir expressed confidence that their countries would keep building up their relations.
Both Karimov and Mahathir offered their condolences to the families of those killed.
Karimov also expressed solidarity with the Russian people.
Condolences also came on Sunday from Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who told Putin by telephone that the bombings had shocked Kazakhstan's people and gave them a sense of solidarity with the Russians.
