Russian Control Systems Agency boosts output by 20 percent

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Industrial output of the Russian Control Systems Agency in January-June 2003 is 20 percent higher than in the same period of 2002, chief of the agency's press service Alexander Shcheglov said on Thursday.

"According to preliminary data, industrial output of the Control Systems Agency's enterprises grew by 20 percent in the first half of the year, output of special-purpose products increasing by over 30 percent and output of civilian products by 10 percent. Output of electronic products increased nearly 1.2 times, including that of microelectronics 1.3 times. The volume of research and technical products grew by 10 percent," Shcheglov told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Stabilization of production activity and escalation of research and technical activity have made it possible to improve the financial situation of the industry, though it still remains complicated, Shcheglov went on. "According to results of 2002, about 60 percent of industrial enterprises and 80 percent of research organizations are profitable," he said.

The agency managed to increase average salaries of its workers in 2003. It currently amounts to RUB4,400 (USD144.9) per month. Average salaries are as high as RUB3,900 (128.5) per month at industrial enterprises and RUB6,000 at research institutions.

The highest salaries in the industrial sector exceeding RUB7,000-8,000 (USD230.6-263.5) per month are paid by the Granit state-owned research and technical enterprise, Lianozovo electromechanical plant, Angstrem JSO, AOOT NIIME and Mikron plant. The highest salaries in the research sector exceeding RUB9,000-10,000 (USD296.4-329.3) per month are paid by the Moscow- based Agat R&D institute, Fazotron-NIIR corporation, Kompas design bureau, and Globus design bureau.
