VLADIVOSTOK. July 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The Pacific Fleet has begun to practice main episodes of a large-scale command post exercise (CPX) which is scheduled for August.
"The fleet's forces led by Commander of the Pacific Fleet Admiral Victor Fyodorov will put out to sea to practice main episodes of different options in the scenario of the large-scale CPX which is scheduled to take place in the Pacific area in August," a source in the Pacific Fleet HQ told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
He added that "over 50 surface ships and submarines, motor boats and vessels are putting out to sea in the framework of the training launched on Monday. These forces are to accomplish more than 100 combat exercises."
In addition, 30 aircraft and helicopters are involved in the training.
The source said that groupings of mixed forces, as well as single surface ships and submarines, would accomplish missile, artillery, torpedo firing and bombing during the training.
