MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow and Washington believe it is necessary to continue working on normalizing the situation on the Korean peninsula.
This statement was made during a meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yury Fedotov and U.S. Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow on Tuesday.
Fedotov and Vershbow "confirmed the need to continue working to normalize the situation on the Korean peninsula while maintaining its nuclear-free status," reads a Russian Foreign Ministry release obtained by Interfax.
Fedotov and Vershbow also discussed issues relating to Russian-U.S. cooperation within the UN, the document reads.
