Russian Armed Forces chief-of-staff leaves for Volga-Ural military district

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Chief-of-Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin left for a working trip to Yekaterinburg on Monday as head of a group of generals and officers of the Armed Forces central administration.

"General Kvashnin will check combat readiness of Volga-Ural military district units and hear reports of the district command from July 28 to 31," a source in the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Kvashnin is also planning to check the 5th air force and air defense army stationed in the region, the source said.
