MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax-AVN) - An armed robbery was committed at the Iraqi Embassy headquarters in Moscow, a law enforcement source told Interfax on Tuesday.
An embassy official contacted police at around 6:00 a.m. Moscow time (0200 GMT) and said that several gunmen had entered the embassy and stolen USD3m from a safe at night.
Investigators are working at the scene.
At the same time, a police officer in charge of the embassy's security said that he had not noticed anything suspicious.
The embassy official said that the criminals had managed to get inside the building bypassing the police checkpoint.
