Top Armenian border guard service official arrested

YEREVAN. July 29 (Interfax-AVN) - A deputy chief of the Armenian border guard service was arrested on charges of large- scale bribery and abuse of office on Monday, the National Security Service told Interfax.

A search carried out in the man's apartment revealed unregistered weapons and munitions. His arrest became possible due to joint efforts conducted by the military prosecutor's office and the National Security Council.

No further details have been disclosed.
