Anti-terrorism struggle still top priority - Putin

MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The fight against international terrorism remains the priority for Russia's security agencies, President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with top military officials in the Kremlin on Tuesday.

"Rapid reaction and information-analytical units of the Federal Security Service will play a key role in these efforts," Putin said.

"It is necessary to try to act faster than the terrorists - to cut off their routes of financing and procurement and destroy their camps and training bases," he noted.

Putin said that terrorists have been choosing more savage methods of fighting. "Their actions primarily target civilians, women and children. We should fight the terrorists via active attacks and coordinated efforts of all agencies," he added.
