MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax-AVN) - A large amount of drugs was confiscated in the Moscow region on Tuesday, Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov told journalists.
"A KamAZ truck driven by a Tajik citizen was stopped in the Orekhovo-Zuyevo district in the Moscow region. A cache camouflaged as an extra gas tank behind the driver's compartment was found during the inspection," Gryzlov said at a press conference on Wednesday.
It "contained 220 kilos of pure heroin," he said. "This is the largest amount of heroin that law enforcement servicemen have ever confiscated," he said.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) specialists and a trained dog participated in the inspection, he said.
Two Tajik citizens who traveled in the passenger seats were also detained. A criminal case was launched.
The truck's destination was Moscow, he said. Gryzlov ordered the policemen guarding roads to be more alert.
