MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The crew of an MI-26 Halo helicopter owned by Vertikal-T air company is expected to return to Moscow from Sudan on Thursday, the company told Interfax.
Visas for a new crew, who will go to Sudan within the next few days to fly the helicopter to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will have been prepared by Thursday, the company said.
The crew of the Russian helicopter, detained in Sudan on July 21, was freed on Tuesday following insistent requests from the Russian Foreign Ministry and the UN. The crew was supposed to perform helicopter operations in the DRC under a contract with the UN.
