Five polling stations to open in federal units stationed in Chechnya

GROZNY. July 31 (Interfax-AVN) - Five polling stations will open at federal garrisons, basic centers and military units stationed in Chechnya on a permanent basis so that servicemen will be able to vote in Chechen presidential elections, Buvaisar Arsakhanov, deputy chairman of the republic's election commission, said on Thursday.

"Establishment of polling stations in the republic will follow the patter of the Chechen constitutional referendum that took place on March 23 this year. A total of 417 polling stations will be set up in the republic," Arsakhanov told Interfax- Military News Agency.

According to him, two polling stations will open at the stationing area of the 46th detached operational-purpose brigade of the Russian Interior Ministry in Grozny. Three more polling stations will be set up in units of the 42nd guard motorized rifle division organic of the North Caucasus military district.
