DUSHANBE. July 31 (Interfax-AVN) - More than 1.5 tonnes of heroin was confiscated by Russian border guards on the Tajik- Afghan border in January-June 2003.
The press service of the Tajik-based unit of the Russian Federal Border Guard Service told Interfax on Thursday that a total of 2.685 tonnes of drugs and 25 firearms were seized as well.
In addition, 77 trespasses of the border zone and 42 attempts to cross the border were prevented in the first half of the year.
