MAKHACHKALA. Aug 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The body of a Czech citizen, presumed to be a journalist, has been discovered in Dagestan. The man is believed to have been travelling to Chechnya.
A source in the Dagestani Interior Ministry told Interfax on Monday that the man's body was found on the bank of the Andiiskaya- Koisu River in the Gumbetov district with several gunshot and knife wounds.
"Investigators have established that the victim is a citizen of Prague born in 1973," the source said.
He noted that the man is presumed to be a journalist.
Witnesses said that they had seen the man travelling to Chechnya via the Botlikh district.
Investigators are establishing the circumstances behind the murder.
