Voronezh aircraft plant has guaranteed orders for six IL-96-300 and two IL-96-400

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The Voronezh Joint Stock Aircraft Production Association (VASO) has guaranteed orders for six IL-96-300 passenger airliners for Aeroflot and two cargo IL- 96-400 for Atlant-Soyuz carriers, Vyacheslav Salikov, VASO CEO, said in an interview with the Vedomosti daily, published on Wednesday.

He said that additional contracts for the IL-96-400T cargo aircraft were being considered.

"We also plan to replace power plants of the IL-76 Candid and put in production the IL-112V small cargo aircraft," Salikov said.

On the state defense order for the IL-76MF, Salikov said that the plant does not have such an order so far. "If the Armed Forces are interested in that, and if the government takes a relevant decision, we are ready to implement it," he said.

VASO was founded in 1993 as privatized Voronezh Aircraft Production Association.

As of January 1, 2003, VASO shareholders' register included 19,210 shareholders, of which 52 were legal entities. The 2002 revenue was RUB1.339bn (USD44.18m), net loss RUB50.3m (USD1.66m). The state has transferred 56 percent of VASO equity to the NRB Group for management.
