MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Three aircraft of the Air Force have been tailored to participate in the search for the MI- 8 Hip helicopter that went missing in the Far East with Igor Farkhutdinov, Sakhalin region governor, and other top regional executives onboard.
"To search for the MI-8 helicopter that went missing in the Far East with Igor Farkhutdinov, Sakhalin region governor, and other top regional executives onboard, the Air Force has tailored an AN-24 Coke, AN-26 Curl, and AN-12 Condor," Vladimir Mikhailov, Air Force Commander, told Interfax-Military News Agency Wednesday.
He emphasized that "no search is being performed now in the nighttime but at dawn the planes will go to the area assigned to them for the search," the commander said.
