Russia entering new weapons markets

ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region). Aug 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia has expanded its presence on the world's arms market this year, Rosoboronexport General Director Andrei Belyaninov said on Wednesday.

"This year has been successful. We have signed a contract for the delivery of 18 multi-purpose Su-30 MKM fighters to Malaysia. We have acquired another large market in Indonesia and are returning to the market of Central and East Europe," Belyaninov said.

He specified that Eastern Europe's fleet already includes about 100 Mi-24 military helicopters, which need to be modernized.

Belyaninov said that Russia is continuing to take part in Turkey's helicopter tender.
