PERM. Aug 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov will attend a conference on establishing the Federal Engine-Building Center on the basis of enterprises located in Perm, the press service of the Perm engine plant said on Tuesday.
"Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov arrives in Perm for a working visit on August 26. The agenda of the visit includes trips to leading enterprises of the Perm engine-building network and a conference on creating the Federal Engine-Building Center," a press service official told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Head of the Russian Aviation and Space Agency Yuri Koptev, First Deputy Transportation Minister Alexander Neradko, Director General of the Aviadvigatel JSO Alexander Inozemtsev, head of the Perm engine plant Yuri Reshetnikov, and representatives of large owners of enterprises are also expected to attend the conference.
A governmental delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin visited Perm in July. The delegation and local officials discussed the plan of work on creating the Federal Engine- Building Center on the basis of enterprises based in Perm. A decision was made to set up a working group led by Koptev to work out proposals concerning the center's creation and submit them to the government before mid-September.
Perm engine-building enterprises specialize in developing and producing aircraft engines and ground gas-turbine plants. They have registered a stable annual growth in sales volume by an average of 50 percent since 1998.
