MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has hailed the decision of the European Union to officially put Chechen extremists Shamil Basayev and Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev on the list of people and organizations involved in terrorism.
"This decision is part of interaction between Russia and the EU in the fight against international terrorism," a Russian Foreign Ministry release issued on Thursday says.
The decision means that Basayev's and Yandarbiyev's bank accounts in EU countries will be automatically frozen," the document says.
