VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Vice Admiral Robert F. Willard, Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, will make an official visit to Russia from September 30 to October 4, the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet said on Tuesday.
Willard will arrive in Vladivostok on September 30 to meet with the Pacific Fleet command and visit a marine division stationed in the Maritime territory and the Makarov Pacific Naval College, a press service official told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The vice admiral will also travel to the Kamchatka peninsula, where he will board a Russian submarine.
"It will be Vice Admiral Willard's second visit to Vladivostok. Last year, he headed an official delegation of the U.S. 7th Fleet's ship detachment," the official said.
Admiral Viktor Fyodorov, Pacific Fleet commander, made an official visit to the U.S. Naval Station Pearl Harbor Base in June last year.
During the visit, the Russian admiral held several official and informal meetings with Admiral Thomas Fargo, Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, Admiral Walter Doran, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, and other U.S. admirals and generals.
