Georgian-Abkhaz talks in Tbilisi postponed

SUKHUMI. Sept 23 (Interfax-AVN) - The talks on security and non-resumption of war guarantees scheduled to be held in Tbilisi on Tuesday have been postponed "for technical reasons," Sergei Shamba, the foreign minister of the unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia, told Interfax on Tuesday.

Following consultations the two sides agreed to hold the talks after September 30.

September 30, 1993 marked the ousting of Georgian troops from Abkhazia and the end of the 412-day Georgian-Abkhaz war.

Sukhumi, the Abkhaz capital, will celebrate this day as Independence Day while in Tbilisi it will be a day of morning, the Day of the Fall of Sukhumi.
