No one hurt in Chechen school bombing

GROZNY. Sept 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Nobody was hurt when a bomb went off inside Secondary School No. 10 in the Chechen town of Shali, which housed a voting station, late on Wednesday, Shali district official Abdula Sapiyev has told Interfax.

Experts believe the yield of the bomb was 200 grams of TNT, he said.

The bombers intended to frighten members of the election commission, most of whom are school staff, Sapiyev said.

In another incident, a serviceman was injured when a landmine went off in the town of Vedeno.

An anti-tank grenade launcher has been found in the area of a former Savings Bank office and a cache containing grenades and explosives was found in the Vedeno district.

A Kalashnikov assault rifle, grenades, rounds for grenade launchers, landmines and ammunition have been found in the villages of Goity and Shalazhi, Urus-Martan district, a local police official told Interfax.
