MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax-AVN) - There was no external cause behind the crash of a TU-160 Blackjack strategic bomber in Saratov region, Russia's Chief Military Prosecutor Alexander Savenkov said in a TV appearance on Thursday.
"Investigators think that the fire in the plane started in one of its four engines that had not been replaced. Records show that a fire broke out in the engine," he said.
Four crewmembers died in the crash. An investigation is underway.
