Two terrorist attacks prevented in Chechnya

GROZNY. Sept 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Federal sappers prevented two terrorist attacks involving home-made explosive devices in Chechnya on Thursday, the regional headquarters managing the anti- guerilla operation in the North Caucasus told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"Engineer intelligence found a home-made explosive device consisting of a 120-mm mortar shell on the road between Oktyabrskoye and Mesker-Yurt in the Shali district," spokesman for the headquarters Colonel Ilya Shabalkin said.

Another explosive device was disarmed in the Leninsky district of Grozny. It consisted of two 200g TNT charges and small metal devices such as bolts, nails and wire pieces.

Investigators are working on the locations where the explosive devices were found. Measures are being taken to detect the persons who arranged the attacks.
