AGOI, Krasnodar Territory. Oct 7 (Interfax-AVN) - A team of NATO experts is undergoing a survival exercise at the Agoi special center of the Russian Air Force, situated outside the town of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Territory.
"Today NATO experts examined the training sites, where flight personnel are instructed in the skills necessary for making bonfires using improvised means and providing signals to search and rescue parties in case of an emergency bail out," Lieutenant General Vladislav Stytsenkov, head of the Air Force combat training directorate, who supervises the demonstration exercise, shown to foreign experts, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.
Stytsenkov said that the guests had familiarized themselves with the equipment of the KA-27PS Helix S&R helicopter, and had attended the pre-drop preparations for splashing down from the KA- 27PS.
Later in the day NATO experts learnt to place snares for catching wide animals.
On Wednesday NATO experts will observe a splash down, carried out by Russian flight personnel, and heliborne evacuation from the water surface, as well as undergo alpine training, Stytsenkov said.
He emphasized that the decision on such cooperation between Russian ad NATO servicemen, was taken at one of the Russia-NATO meetings.
"The Air Force is an active participant in such cooperation," Stytsenkov said.
The NATO delegation will stay at the Agoi special center until Saturday.
