KYIV. Oct 7 (Interfax-AVN) - George Robertson, the outgoing NATO secretary general, plans to visit Ukraine towards the end of this year.
Ihor Kharchenko, a Ukrainian deputy foreign minister, said at the political committee and Inter-parliamentary council of Ukraine-NATO session on Tuesday that meetings of the political and the political- military committees of NATO are scheduled to take place in November 2003.
It is planned to evaluate the completion of tasks set for Ukraine under the Ukraine-NATO plan for 2003, said Kharchenko.
In December a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO committee at the foreign ministerial level is scheduled to take place.
Ukraine is pleased with its cooperation with NATO to date in different spheres, such as military, scientific, cultural and political, said Kharchenko.
The priority for the near future is to develop relations which would "in their form and substance lead to the preparation of the future membership of Ukraine in the NATO alliance," said Kharchenko.
