Two terrorist blasts prevented in Grozny

KHANKALA. Oct 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Sappers of the Combined Federal Forces prevented two terrorist blasts in Grozny on Thursday, Colonel Vasily Panchenkov, chief of the forces' press service, told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"Federal sappers defused two explosive devices in Grozny. The one on Zhukovsky Street was based on a regular MON-200 mine, and the one on Pobedy Avenue on a grenade launcher round," Panchenkov said.

Also on Thursday, two caches were found in the vicinity of the Meskety and Chur-Irzu villages. They contained a flame thrower, eight 30-mm shells, and a large number of small-arms cartridges, he noted.
