MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Ministry of Industry, Science, and Technologies submitted to the Russian government a comprehensive program, envisioning a considerable increase in production potential of Russian defense industry enterprises, deputy minister Alexander Brindikov said on Friday.
"The proposals, submitted by the Ministry of Industry, Science and Technologies to the Russian government for consideration, will allow the production potential of Russian industrial enterprises, including defense industry ones, to be increased," Brindikov told the constituent assembly of the expert coordination council, concerned with problems, pertaining to defense industry, held in the State Duma.
He clarified that the measures, proposed by the ministry, concern in particular technical and technological re-equipment of defense industry enterprises, as well as increasing the quality of products, and taxes.
According to Brindikov, the problem of legislation, regulating the reform of the Russian defense industry, is of paramount importance.
"We need laws, which would allow the problem of reforming the defense industry to be solved, and create conditions for increasing the quality of Russian products both in the international and the domestic markets," Brindikov said.
He noted that the task of increasing the GDP can only be discharged by beefing up the industrial potential.
