Two policemen killed in terrorist attacks in Grozny

GROZNY. Oct 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Two policemen were killed and six more wounded in Thursday terrorist attacks in Grozny, a source at the local police told Interfax.

One officer was killed when a police UAZ off-road vehicle came under fire at a road crossing in Zavodskoy district. Three of his colleagues, two of them senior officers, were wounded.

Another officer, a member of the OMON special force from Oryol region, was killed by a makeshift explosive charge in Chernorechye neighborhood. Three policemen were wounded. At the site investigators discovered a Kenwood portable radio station, fragments of a makeshift high-explosive charge and a storage battery.
