Shevardnadze gives no orders to use army in putting order in Georgia - chief inspector

TBILISI. Nov 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The Georgian army has not received any orders to react to opposition actions aimed at making the authorities revise parliamentary election returns, Major General Givi Ikiuridze, chief military inspector under the Georgian president, said on Monday.

"The Defense Ministry has received no instructions from the president to this effect, Ikiuridze told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Defense Minister David Tevzadze told reporters in Tbilisi on Sunday that the situation in the country is going out of control.
