Over 200 officers attend training session in Russian Strategic Missile Force

MOSCOW. Nov 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 200 senior officers of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) are involved in an ongoing mobilization training session, the SMF press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"The strategic training session that started in the SMF on Wednesday involves over 200 generals and senior officers who head SMF departments, services, large units, higher educational establishments and organizations," a press service official said.

He stressed that participants in the session will be trained in several aspects of SMF application at the current stage. In addition, they will update methods of commanders' work aimed at ensuring stable control over troops and armament and maintaining the troops' combat and mobilization readiness.

"The session will also feature a command post war game that will be supervised by SMF commander Colonel General Nikolai Solovtsov," the official said.

Upon completion of the session, its participants will attend an expanded session of the SMF military council that is expected to discuss activity of the SMF commanders in the 2003 training year and specify spheres of work for the next training year.
