Commanders' training session starts in Moldovan Defense Ministry

CHISINAU. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Moldovan Defense Ministry is hosting a training session of the National Army's high-ranking officers, National Army Chief-of-Staff Iona Koropchan said on Friday.

"During the session, we will make a detailed analysis of the progress in combat training and advancement of personnel skills over this year and discuss the main events that the Defense Ministry has scheduled for the next training year," Koropchan told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Participants in the session are expected to pay special attention to teaching methods of work with subordinate units to young commanders, he said.

"This is done because the major share of unit commanders has been replaced with young officers who have just graduated from military academies over the past year as a result of the military reform and the work to strengthen the higher command level," Koropchan noted.

A source in the Moldovan Defense Ministry told Interfax-AVN that new commanders have been appointed to about 60 percent of Moldovan military units, including two out of three mechanized infantry brigades, this year.
